Egyptian Aspects of Self - The Spirit and Energy Bodies

The Goddess Sekhmet – The Great One of Magic, Mother of the Gods, Lady of the Place of the Beginning of Time.
Sa – Breath of life at birth, the life force.
Sekhem – Power or might, the sacred might, strength or vital force personified. Also: Power of breath.
Sahu – The ‘realised’ being, five bodies integrated as the spiritual body. The aim is to awaken and break through the veils of ‘non-awareness’ by integrating all five bodies, thus awakening to our full potential.

The Five Bodies

1. Aufu or Khat – Physical body, brain, mechanical, prone to chaos, lower body or self.
2. Ka – ‘Double’, mind, objective/subjective. Also: An abstract individuality of a personality imbued with all characteristic attitudes or the individual it represents. Independent existence, free to move from place to place on Earth at will and hold converse with the Gods. Vital power, force, animation of matter, ‘life-force’.
3. Haidit (Khaibit) – ‘Shadow’, unconscious – connected to cosmos. ‘Dog’ – Anubis.
4. Khu – ‘Magico-spiritual’ or the magical body, second order, subconscious, dreams, higher personal and collective consciousness – connected to cosmos (Neters, Gods, Goddesses). Also: Spiritual intelligence or spirit, a shining illuminous form, the intangible shape of the body.
5. Sahu – ‘Magico-spiritual’, first order, subtle body, spiritual body, complete conscious knowledge and use of all five bodies and their dimensions – nearest to the cosmos, Higher Self. Psychospiritual exercises are practices to integrate the Five Bodies. Please refer to the book ‘The Way of Five Bodies, Sekhmet’.

The Two Spirits

Ba – Imperishable, eternal, the soul (winged as a bird, flies with the chen symbol of protection).
Sokhim – Dies with the physical body, the foundation for consciousness.

Other Aspects

Akh – The radiant light.
Ren – Our secret name, our name vibration.
Ab – The heart.
Re – Golden Light Body.
Bau – Supernatural power.
Heka – Individuals capacity for magic (Hekau – Words of magic).
‘All went to the full making-up of Man.’
