Symbolism, Terminology and Practices

Dream Analysis

”Dreams come to individuals when the conscious mind is subdued and the subconscious mind is in command.” “Dreams are the activities in the unseen world of the real self.” Signs, messages and symbols are comprised of everything we have ever observed, heard, felt and thought in this life and past lives. We can train ourselves to use our dreams as a clear communication tool if we work with them, and hold the intention to connect with them.

Benefits: Expansion of consciousness, creative stimulation and problem solving, healing and diagnosis, dietary requirements, past life experiences needing to be addressed, an increase in our ability to serve our fellow man through insights and symbols.

Recalling Dreams

Hold the intention every night, before sleep, that you wish to recall your dreams. Prepare a notebook and pen. Actively ask for guidance to come into dreams. By writing them energy will often shift (you may sneeze or feel emotions, and more forgotten elements will come to light). If you awake in the night, jot down the main symbols.

Key Elements to Interpret

People: Often a reflection of qualities we need to recognise and accept in ourselves.
The setting: Think about how you connect to the place, and the condition (new/old).
Emotions: What do you feel in relation to the actions?
Archetypes: Symbols that relate to ‘initiation’ and the collective unconscious.
Rooms and gardens: Our inner world, our outer world and boundaries (attic = head, dining room = food consumption, living room = daily life, cellar = subconscious).
Reoccurring dreams: Resistance to change, study = learning, hallways = change, tunnels = deeper levels of the mind.
The Four Elements:
Earth = down to earth, dirt to clear, obstacles to overcome, weeds, wilderness.
Water = emotions (in too deep, smooth sailing etc).
Air = mental activity (tornado, turbulence), or breathing new life into something.
Fire = must control or direct: anger, passion, purification or transformation, love.
Association: Look at the symbolism and create a ‘mind map’, word and image association from memory.
Nightmares: Indicate a change of diet is needed, or needing to address reoccurring patterns and frustrations. Stress present, the physical body is trying to communicate.
Bathing or washing, toilets and drains: Clearing old ways and releasing toxins, needing to let go.
Being chased, delays, loss, monsters: Fears to acknowledge and shift.
Notice colours: Often connect to chakras and their qualities.
Precognitive dreams: World events, earthquakes, earth changes.
Departed relatives: Making contact, or, seeing loved ones before they depart.
Spiritual Guides: Can bring knowledge through dreams, being asked to incorporate attributes of love and service.
Guidance in answer to intentions: Words, symbols, formula, names, instructions, images, higher concepts, flashes of inspiration, collective knowledge, archetypes, active imagination, holograms, telepathic messages, multi-dimensional presences and astral travel.
