Symbolism, Terminology and PracticesBreathFocus on BreathingTaking breaths in and out of the diaphragm expands our awareness and consciousness. Breathing brings us back into balance (i.e. if we are using our head to much we need to come into alignment with our emotional body). Breathing using the diaphragm as a bellows brings energy (prana, chi or lifeforce) releases stored emotions and toxins, aids meditation and assists normal breathing. It also assists with greater connection to meditative and higher vibrational states.
