Feature ArticlesMary Magdelene
The enigmatic Mary Magdalene; the Mary conjured by biblical tales – do we know her true nature? We may see her as the bride of Christ or a mere disciple, but can we know her as a woman? As a representative of any one of us, imparting wisdom that we may share: a personification of the divine feminine energy, or the Ma-Re. A vibration; an essence we may capture as we attune to the frequency of love and hold her within our hearts, becoming one with the Christ light – the Christos – in its feminine aspect, as it took earthly form at this time. Bringing forth our own knowledge as we connect: activating a collective memory as recognition is triggered on a soul level, creating an awakening – “This is me, I am this essence” – it cannot be denied, as we absorb it into every cell of our being. By being open and receptive, for the way of the feminine aspect of Christ is gentle allowing. The chalice: a receptacle for all that is good. The triangle that rises from the Earth to greet the Heavens, the energy of the Mother, and of all that has been created to sustain all of life. Support; there to be acknowledged, should we choose to open our eyes in wonder, to welcome the bounty that is ours to share equally. The blessings that are showered upon us by the Goddess whose dominion is the Kingdom of Nature, and all that we need to live in joy and to grow in magnificence, as we blossom into womanhood and emerge as the wise old crone, in a single lifetime. Yet over many lifetimes we evolve, both in loveliness and complexity, as we come to terms with the nature of beauty – the state of grace. For this is ever the goal, to find acceptance of the light that is our selves and to radiate it to others. To know our own heart is to know the many mysteries of the Universe that in turn, knows us by many names. All that has been, is and will be; woven into the tapestry that records our existence from time immemorial to the very present moment that calls for our reverence. Reverence of self, first and foremost, for Mary Magdalene may teach us this – as a mirror of the beauty that lies within, and equally emanates from us – we are all spun from the same filament, the golden threads that come from the stars infused with the language of light that calls us home; that asks us to remember our origins. Who are we? Extraordinary. Beautiful beyond compare; most capable and fair. Unequalled in all eyes but our own, for no one else shares our song. Our many talents: ours to claim. Our creative powers: unrivalled by males. For the ‘feminine’ is just that – bringing forth new life, the gift that is bestowed; the miracle of birth, the pain and joy it holds. The Magdalene was sacred too – yet all are the same, both me and you. Worship ourselves and we find the way, for bathed in love, what comes our way? Love in its purity, magnetised, for through love of self we are love in all its glory – its fullest expression; through kindness and compassion we may nurture this vision. The time has come to recognise, to release our shackles – to free our minds – to rise above any fears or doubts, to hold our focus, to open our hearts. For balance now to be achieved, and self-denial banished – we will find a reprieve. No longer following the logic of mind, or hiding emotions – what do we find? That when we trust ourselves, we know the way – that when we listen to our heart, we’re lively and gay. That controls are from a state of fear, and that ‘a means to an end’ only serves others interests, for in ‘engaging fully’ we create our own conditions. The conditions that are necessary to allow us to thrive – to expand, to flourish, and to take challenges in our stride. To hold all in balance is to be aware of all we do, an observer, a participant, not forced to coerce. In taking responsibility, we know what we must do – casting aside limitations, discovering our own truth. Not placing faith in every ‘other’ but being our own friend, our own lover. Believing we are worthy of the best – what happens next? Such joy abounds, fulfilment gained, “Here I am, I take my mantle A beacon in darkness, I light the way To realise salvation is held in our name – The world that contains us, a mirror of all – In finding love of ourselves, and all that is ours, Attunement Exercise: Stand straight and tall with your arms above your head and hands in prayer, to form a candle and flame. Draw light from above and expand the flame, bringing energy through your crown, becoming a pillar of light. Open your arms, palms outstretched, to form a chalice and fill it with thoughts of all the goodness and blessings in your life, drawing up light from Mother Earth. Close your palms in prayer and draw them down to your heart, holding the essence of wellbeing and absorbing it – letting it permeate your being.
